Merry Christmas from Mount Carmel

We´re celebrating Christmas, so it´s better for us to set our sight at the closest crèches to Holy Land.

2016 has been the most lethal year in the history of the Mediterranean route, at least 3,800 people have lost their lives. On Middle East, the war in Syria has mobilized millions of people. And the Islamic State (Daesh, by its acronym) traffics and kidnaps people.

It´s difficult to meet with the kind side of the human nature when the policies of the States are generating an economical system based only on the goods and money, the power and competition. The societies have become more sensitive to the ecological themes and to the environment, to discrimination for reasons of sex, race or religion.

These are some of the cribs we are called to contemplate today upon Jesus incarnated. When discovering Him within these realities, we as shepherds from other time, adore Him with the hope of the new world that He has shown us.

The Discalced Carmelites of Stella Maris and Muhraqa, wish you a Merry Christmas and a 2017 prosperous in the peace and the service.
